Is a Car Charger worth Installing?

Is it worth it?

A home car charger is less expensive than the rates of a public station.  It is convenient and also charges faster. 

 

Factors impacting  cost: 

Cable length, charge output, electric panel / breaker size.

Parts for an EV charging station can run from $300 to over $1,000 for high end models.  But, there are potential risks if you simply plug into an outlet on a shared circuit, older wiring, and breakers.

Electricity rates are lowest during Super Off-Peak hours (midnight to 6 a.m.). That rate is nearly half of peak hour charges.
